Twenty-nine year old Antoine D. Young appeared in superior court this afternoon where he faced charges of first degree-murder in the death of photographer Chris Radok.

Dressed in an orange Mecklenburg County Jail jumpsuit, Young was silent for most of the hearing as Judge Regan Miller told him that he will be appointed an attorney who has experience dealing with a serious charge such as his. He was denied bond and will be held in the Mecklenburg County Jail. Young is no stranger to the system with five previous arrests, on charges ranging from breaking and entering to possession of marijuana.

The only time Young spoke was when the judge was telling him about not giving him a bond; he said he couldn't hear because the deputy was talking, in a slightly defiant voice.

Young will be back in court on Jan. 24.
