Millions in N.C. tax refunds available ... from 2007

Alright slackers, if you didn't file your taxes in 2007 now is the time. The Charlotte Business Journal is reporting that you have until April 18 to file and claim your refund, if you're owed one. And, no: This isn't a trick. This is simply your chance to get caught up and claim what is rightfully yours.

More than $26 million in tax refunds may be waiting for 29,300 North Carolinians who didn’t file a tax return for 2007.

In cases where a return wasn’t filed, the law provides most taxpayers with a three-year window of opportunity for claiming a refund. If no return is filed to claim a refund within three years, the money becomes property of the U.S. Treasury.
