The Mint's final First Friday event

Posted By on Thu, Jun 2, 2011 at 9:19 AM

Who knew hanging around a museum after hours could be so much fun? Guests visiting the Mint Museum Uptown this Friday night will officially be breaking all the rules as they explore all that the museum has to offer past normal closing hours.

Part of an ongoing series called First Fridays, this weekend’s event will sadly be the last night of artsy fun for the season. The event theme will be EleMINT (catchy enough?) and will include all sorts of hands-on-activities, including live entertainment from DJ Darryl Elkins and DJ Encore, an eclectic fashion show, a living portrait created by artist Gordon David Brown, a cash bar, and after-hours access to the art galleries. For more information, go to www.mintmuseum.org/firstfridays. Free for members, $10 for non-members. 6-11 p.m. The Mint Museum Uptown, 2730 Randolph Rd. 704-337-2000.
