The spot below Soul Gastrolounge in Plaza Midwood is finally opening, and Saturday night, you'll want to be one of the first to check it out. They'll be hosting an art exhibit opening, the exhibit titled (so appropriately) Emergence.
Ahh, the season of giving has surely begun, and it's time to loosen that tight grip on your wad of cash and help those who are less fortunate than you are.
And what can be more fun than doing that at an event where you can sample some tasty bites, listen to some good music and fight in a bidding war during a silent auctoin?
Tonight, Neighborhood Theatre in NoDa hosts A Taste in NoDa, an event to benefit the Help Children With AIDS organization.
Items for bid in the silent auction (starting promptly at 7 p.m.) include a three-night stay for two at Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos, spa packages, wine baskets, music lessons, a ride with a race car driver, and much more. Restaurants from NoDa and surrounding areas are providing tastes for all to sample and local wineries will be handing out wine samples to taste. Local bands, including Gyp-Hop, Sarah Stephens and friends, Jubal Kane, Christy Snow and Righteous Molly, will provide entertainment.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with a $5 admission price and tickets for food samples are $1 each.
Come on people. It's only $5 to make a difference, and you can always do the "party till you pass out" clubbing thing tomorrow night.
