On Tuesday, Feb. 9, a different kind of event will be held at The Evening Muse. Will Spit 4 Sol Food will feature poets offering up poetry and spoken word over music by the house band and DJ.

The event is being organized by Mike Kitchen (The Sol Kitchen) and poets Bluz, JC Cowan and Queen Sheba. The house band is Tariq Cranke and VKC Band.

You'll hear Afro-beats, classic hip-hop, neo-soul, blues, jazz and samples along with other genres as poets focus on Black History Month (February).

The first Will Spit 4 Sol Food event, held last fall at the Muse, sold out -- this time around, a female component and DJ have been added. More events are being planned for the future.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

OK, reality TV addicts ... first the bad news. Mike "The Situation" – star of the MTV's hit show “Jersey Shore” — who was originally scheduled to make an appearance at Suite tomorrow night, is NOT coming.  Awww ... I know you're disapointed.

But the good news is that his appearance has been rescheduled to next week.

Here's the press release:

A Suite Situation Moved to February 10

Charlotte, NC (February 2, 2010) – Due to obligations from MTV, The Situation – star of the network’s hit show “Jersey Shore” – will be unable to appear as scheduled at Suite Wednesday night, February 3. Have no fear “Jersey Shore” junkies, Suite and The Situation already have an even bigger party planned next week – Wednesday night, February 10.

Just last week MTV officially announced that “Jersey Shore” will return, with the original cast, for a second season this summer. On the heels of this announcement, The Situation will now be appearing on the “The Ellen Degeneres Show” as well as “The Jay Leno Show” Wednesday, February 3.

From the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, to Ellen and Jay Leno all the way back to the Queen City – The Situation will be ready to celebrate in style next Wednesday, February 10 at Suite.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this "Situation" was beyond our control.

Be the first to find out about the happenings at Suite by following us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/suitecharlotte. You can also find additional information on our website, www.SuiteCharlotte.com.
