On Tuesday, Feb. 9, a different kind of event will be held at The Evening Muse. Will Spit 4 Sol Food will feature poets offering up poetry and spoken word over music by the house band and DJ.
The event is being organized by Mike Kitchen (The Sol Kitchen) and poets Bluz, JC Cowan and Queen Sheba. The house band is Tariq Cranke and VKC Band.
You'll hear Afro-beats, classic hip-hop, neo-soul, blues, jazz and samples along with other genres as poets focus on Black History Month (February).
The first Will Spit 4 Sol Food event, held last fall at the Muse, sold out -- this time around, a female component and DJ have been added. More events are being planned for the future.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

But the good news is that his appearance has been rescheduled to next week.
