Two recently closed nightlife venues are reopening next week, newly revamped, just in time for the CIAA crowds.
Phoenix, formerly known as The Forum at 300 N. College St., will be the spot for numerous CIAA parties. Their doors will be open Wednesday, March 2, for The Sol Kitchen's Pop Life (dubbed by many to be THE kickoff party for CIAA). Phoenix's official grand opening will be March 12, with world renown French house DJ/producer Antoine Clamaran.
On the other side of Uptown, the spot formerly known as Jillian's (right in front of the light rail on Bland Street) has now transformed into Lux. The venue will open Tuesday, March 1, hosting Tone-X and Friends Comedy Show. The grand opening date hasn't been announced, but in the meantime, Lux will host a variety of CIAA events, including bringing R&B crooner R. Kelly on March 5.

The folks behind Revolution at the Marriott are guaranteeing a party for the people, by the people.
The Black Hollywood Affair will take place at the NC Dance Theatre on Saturday, March 5. Despite the commercial, I'm thinking there probably won't be any helicopters. But, that's just my thought.
Velvet Entertainment and The A List take over the Westin on Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, with their events The Premiere and The Encore, respectively.
Dynasty 5 has taken over two venues this year for five parties, Hilton Center City and the Omni — not to mention partnering with some other promoters for more parties.
Rick Ross and Wale will be performing at The Mansion on Sugar Creek Road on Thursday, March 3. Watch this video and don't tell me you're not bouncing your head up and down to Ricky Rozay.

I have to say, as I've been compiling CL's big ass list of parties for CIAA 201, I've been incredibly overwhelmed. How do you choose which places to hit up out of the 200+ events going on in a four-day period?
