Rielle Hunter and Fantasia from American Idol both call Charlotte home and, until recently, they couldn't have been more different.
Now, these women allegedly have something in common: sex tapes.
Hunter's alleged sex tape involves John Edwards, former senator from our great state and the man who wanted to be president while cheating on his cancer-stricken wife. News of that tape made headlines around the time when Andrew Young, a former Edwards aide, released his book The Politician, which was about the sex scandal with Hunter and Edwards.
Now, Charlotte resident Fantasia Barrino allegedly has a sex tape with a married man. Though he's not famous and Fanny is only borderline famous because having a reality show on VH1 after going broke after winning American Idol isn't much to brag about he was still married. Word on the street (or the gossip blogs) is that Fantasia has a tattoo of this married man's name on her shoulder.
Paula Cook, who separated from her husband, Antwaun Cook, in June, filed the documents -- seeking child custody, alimony and other monetary support -- Wednesday in Mecklenburg County District Court. The documents allege Antwaun Cook began the affair with Barrino, 26, in August 2009 after the pair met at a Charlotte-area T-Mobile store where Cook is employed.
Barrino -- the 2004 winner of the popular Fox show and an eight-time Grammy nominee -- treated Cook to a lavish lifestyle over the course of their affair, flying him to Atlanta, Georgia; Miami, Florida; New York; Los Angeles, California; and Barbados, the documents allege.
The pair "have at times recorded their illicit sexual activity," according to the documents.
A month after Paula Cook separated from her husband, Barrino is alleged to have interrupted a phone conversation between the estranged couple, telling Cook, "He don't want you. Maybe the next time you get a husband you'll know how to keep him. That's why he is here with me," according to the documents.
So, when the Visit Charlotte folks start looking for a new slogan for the city, I'm wondering if "Charlotte: We Love These Homewreckers" will be considered?
QCityBride.com wants to tell your love story.
The new wedding-centric website, which features pictures and articles about local brides and grooms, has been online for two weeks, according to Glenn Burkins, QCityBride's creator; Burkins is also the editor/founder of its sister site QcityMetro.com, which specializes in African-American news and events.
"I looked at some of the other bridal site,s and I rarely saw African-Americans featured. What we do is really trying to serve what we believe is an under-served market and that's really what is behind it," Burkins said. So far, 11 wedding stories have been featured on the site, which is free for newlyweds.
"It couldn't be more democratic [to be featured on the site] all they have to do is e-mail us at editor@qcitymetro.com and give us the information and a photograph and they're featured," he continued. While Burkins said he can re-size the photos to fit on the site, the images should be high resolution.
Bridal websites are popular with people surfing the net, whether they're looking for ideas for an upcoming wedding or just admiring the style of someone else's big day. Burkins said another reason why people enjoy viewing wedding sites is to read the love stories.
"People love love stories. I didn't expect to enjoy these stories, but I find myself reading them. For me this was just a business proposition, but I find myself reading these stories about how these couples met and how they got married and I'm really into them," he said. "In fact, I'm editing one now and I'm think about how different their relationship developed from my relationship with my wife. They were high school classmates together and they were college classmates, then 12 years later they started dating and got married."
Timothy and Dionne Hines is that couple.
Though many of the couples featured on the site are African-American, Burkins said QCityBride is for all people.

This should make the Ballantyne cougars really happy.
"They want a boy toy. They come right after you," says the guy sitting next to me at Vesuvio Restaurant and Lounge. He names some good spots, which I hear about time and again from Cougars and the men who track them: M5 in SouthPark, Sullivan's in South End, Under the Grape in Ballantyne, Zink in uptown."It's not hard to pick up a Cougar in Ballantyne Village," he says. "You come here on a Saturday, and you go to Villa Antonio, and you will see it. It's automatic. They are on a mission."
The bartender at Villa Antonio watches it all go down every Friday and Saturday night. "They're kind of looking to be a kid again," she says, noting that older men go home with younger women as well. "I see a lot of one-night stands."
