Sunday Funday at Marshall Park

Posted By on Thu, Jun 11, 2009 at 10:46 AM

As the summer sun starts making an appearance, so do summer music festivals — and as it turns out, Marshall Park is the right venue to hold them both ... and will every Sunday in June from 1-6 p.m.

After spending a weekend in clubs and wine lounges, what’s better than doing more lounging … in a lawn chair, that is. You can bring out your picnic furniture and relax to the beats of live jazz music. And if you don’t pack the picnic basket, there’s food for sale. There’s a four band line-up every Sunday. Music for the following weeks will include ....

June 14. Avion (Latino)

State of Art (Rock)

Josh Z (Soft Rock)

Benny J. Smith(Jazz)

June 21. Kinder Band (Latino)

State of Art

Wizdom (Smooth Jazz)

Thom Crumton(Soul)

June 28. Kinder Band

State of Art

Benny J. Smith

Thom Crumpton

Along with the bands, charities are beating the heat too: DrumSTRONG, the group that drummed for 27 hours to raise money for cancer, is dancing to the beat of the Marshall Park Music Festival. And after breaking a Guinness world record, the organization is still going, well … strong!

Marshall Park certainly has their ducks in a row - in fact, the ducks have front row seating!

The weather for this Sunday indicates that it may rain on the parade, but rain or shine Marshall Park will still play on and replace the sun in Sunday with fun to make Funday.
