Taking their name from a Twin Peaks quote, A Place Both Wonderful and Strange make dance pop that’s mysterious, eerie and propulsive. The neo-pagan occult trio builds on 1980s Goth rock of acts like the Sisters of Mercy, and the pioneering electronica of Delia Derbyshire, who arranged the original Dr. Who theme. Their wonderful and strange grooves exude a warmth and empathy that fits the tunes like a black leather glove.
