ART: New Danger exhibition 

Tuesday, March 30

This evening UNC-Charlotte's Student Union Art Gallery will have a reception for its newest exhibition, titled New Danger. The exhibition features art by two artists, including Antoine Williams (you may have seen his work on some of CL's past covers) and John Hairston Jr. Reception is from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Exhibition continues through April 8. UNC-Charlotte, 9201 University City Blvd. 704-687-7100. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
