Auto show: Nice ride

Get revved up for the 2008 Food Lion Auto Fair. This weekend-long event includes a car show, collector car auction and thousands of vendors selling auto parts and memorabilia. For all you antique car fanatics, The Antique Automobile Club of America is holding their annual Spring Meet on Saturday, April 5. With more than 600 rare classic models on display, this show is a feast for the eyes. Need something a little more intimidating? Head over to the Car Care Garage and check out the high-horsepower monsters on display next to radical earth-loving vehicles for the Mean vs. Green theme. Thursday, April 3-Sunday, April 6 $10.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
