Charlotte has lacked a mainstream full-menu vegetarian restaurant for too long. But last fall, the creative team of Jill Marcus and Karen Teed stepped up and opened Fern: Flavors from the Garden. The intimate place has the feel of a backyard in summer and the food is creative and delicious. This is a back-to-back win for Marcus and Teed, who won CL's 2011 Best New Restaurant with their Halcyon, Flavors from the Earth eatery.
