The title, Fast Fat Girls In Pink Hot Pants: One Writer’s Journey Across the Mason-Dixon Line, doesn’t necessarily evoke thoughts of discrimination, yet the topic is part of the book’s core. Author Bethany White traveled through New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee before she penned the book of poetry that takes a strong look at traditions, race and economics across these state lines. White, who often talks about the continuing racial divide, addresses her observations and personal encounters with racism and other issues in the book. She will discuss and sign copies at Park Road Books.
