Beyond the court/dance floor 

Here's a newsflash: the CIAA offers more than just dunks, DJs, drinking and dancing. A ton of non-party/game-related events are going down during the tournament. Here's a look at a few:

CIAA Ford Fan Experience: Thurs., Feb. 28-Sat., March 1 -- Officially tied to the tournament, the Ford Fan Experience is a multimedia event featuring live musical performances, cooking shows, comedy and live radio broadcasts. Expect to see big-name stars like comedian Steve Harvey; rappers Jim Jones, The Clipse, Fabolous, Chingy and Bow Wow; singers Chrisette Michele, Raheem DeVaughn, Omarion and Lyfe Jennings; and chef's G. Garvin and B. Smith, among many, many others. And while you're enjoying the entertainment, stop by the Glamour Puss booth for eyebrow waxing, eyelash applications and hair services. Free admission. Black Magic film premiere: Thurs., Feb. 28 -- Produced by basketball legend Earl Monroe, Black Magic tells the story of the Civil Rights Movement in America, told through the lives of basketball players and coaches who attended historically black colleges and universities. $10. 12 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, Spirit Square, 345 N. 3rd Annual JMI CIAA Premier Invitational Golf Tournament: Fri., Feb. 29 -- Head on over to Ballantyne for a round of golf courtesy of JMI Telecom. Not playing golf? Well you're still invited to come out and be an advocate for your favorite player, have lunch, and enjoy the awards ceremony that takes place after the tournament.
