COMEDY: Grandma Lee

Tuesday, March 23

Too old to be a comedian? Apparently never, but still. Most of us probably can't imagine our own grandmothers onstage doing stand-up comedy. But, that's where Grandma Lee comes in. This 75-year-old foul-mouthed lady -- who began doing stand-up comedy after the death of her husband in 1995 -- stands out not just for her surprisingly raunchy jokes, but also for embracing comedy at such an older age. If there's one thing we can all learn from this, it's that it's never to late to shoot for the stars. Lee, who has since appeared on NBC's America's Got Talent, will visit Lake Norman Comedy Zone for a performance tonight. $20. Doors at 7 p.m.; show at 8 p.m. Lake Norman Comedy Zone in Galway Hooker Irish Pub, 17044 Kenton Drive, Cornelius. www.lkncomedyzone.com.
