THURSDAY, JAN. 10 We know what you did for New Year's and we ain't mad at cha. How about keeping the party going with a little wine? The Morehead Inn Wine Series is the place to fall into ... learn all you can about the wonderful world of the vine. Tonight's event, entitled "A Wide Spread of Reds: An Adventurous Tasting of Diverse Red Wines," concentrates on those deepest of ports sure to have some people covering their necks. FRIDAY, JAN. 11 A musical chairs of sorts is underway during this round of Charlotte Symphony Classics concerts. Next up is William Eddins, the second of four CSO music director candidates to appear this season in the latest, Tchaikovsky's Fifth. Eddins presents a moving piano program comprised of pieces from American composer Charles Griffes interposed with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25 and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony. 8 p.m. $15-$71. SATURDAY, JAN. 12 The guys from Temple pay the Queen City a visit tonight. The Owls have a 6-5 record. The 49ers posted wins against both Davidson and Wake Forest. SUNDAY, JAN. 13 It's kind of a no-brainer for Christian music's largest annual musical tour to make a stop in the Bible Belt. But the lineup for Winter Jam 2008 is where things get a little heady. Headlining the tour is Greenville, Texas band MercyMe. The INO Records artists shot into the mainstream with their hit "I Can Only Imagine." They've released an album every year since then. NewSong will serve as host for the 13th consecutive year. Rounding out the evening's bill will be sibling rock trio BarlowGirl, seasoned rockers Skillet, American Idol's Mandisa, special guest speaker Tony Nolan, and the Xtreme sports Real Encounter BMX/Skate Team. 6 p.m. $10.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site.
