A spoken word performance piece centered around popular lounge singer Earl “Treetops” Johnson as he gives his final performance. Set in the lounge scene of the 60s and 70s, it focuses on his struggles to hold onto his dreams, find love, and meet expectations. This is not just a fictitious representation of the lounge scene it is a metaphor for the challenges performance poets face today. For more information, visit http://boomcharlotte.org.
