In his first solo show on the East Coast, David Skinner brings his love of nature along with his definitive style to the Queen City. In this exhibit at Elder Gallery, Skinner showcases his California and Blue Ridge landscapes, works which capture his definitive brushstrokes and brilliant use of color and light.

Anyone who has ever been to the top of a mountain on a perfect day will tell you that there's no feeling in this world that comes close to the beauty of lush evergreen trees and fields of wildflowers as they populate the rugged terrain of a mountainside. Skinner's latest works capture this humble beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. His layering of color gives an almost impressionistic look to his landscapes.

Gorgeous sunsets, thoughtful valleys and colorful river scenes largely fill this collection. If you're too broke to go to the mountains for a weekend getaway, take a trip down to South End and spend a day in this inviting wilderness.
