Beat, bang, thump, strike or pound -- whatever you do, do it at the drumStrong Cancer benefit at The Misty Meadows Farm May 3 and 4 in Weddington to support a good cause.
DrumsForCures, a non-profit charity will bring performers, vendors and educators together to promote cancer awareness and research in a two-day percussion event. Among the multitude of artists scheduled to perform on stage are Spirit Driven, Soulganic, Thunderdrums and Dead End Parking. Proceeds will benefit Levine Children's Hospital and Lance Armstrong's foundation Livestrong.
Last year, the first-ever fundraiser went into the record books for the longest continuous 24-hour drum-a-thon. This time, they hope to squash that by adding at least two hours. drumStrong will continue rain or shine. Participants may come and go as they please. Registration is $25-$50, and is good for both days. Visit www.drumstrong.org for more information.
