Feeling Blue

Saturday, November 3

Think you're high maintenance? Each member of the Blue Man Group needs an hour before each show to primp, that is, cover their faces with grease paint. Despite the wait, the blue-faced trio is ready to wow Charlotte with the How to be a Megastar Tour 2.1. With music, comedy, and multimedia theatrics, these guys are sure to come up with another smash hit that will leave audiences feeling anything but blue. (For more on the Blue Man Group, read an interview with a blue man in the arts section at www.charlotte.creativeloafing.com.) 8 p.m. $55-$85. Charlotte Bobcats Arena, 333 E. Trade St. 704-522-6500. www.charlottebobcatsarena.com.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
