FESTIVAL: Pride Charlotte 2009

Saturday, July 25

It's time for Charlotte to go gay! And Pride Charlotte 2009 -- one of the largest annual fests in the nation celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities -- is bringin' in lots of entertainment. This year, you can expect to see performers like Amy Steinburg, Brendan Velasquez, Crys Matthews, Joshua Klipp, Daniel Gray, Rodie Ray, Jill Austin Band, One Voice Chorus, Beledi Beat Dancers, The Bombshell & Mr. Red, Gay Men's Chorus of Charlotte and more. But there's more to the fest than all this. In addition, it gives folks a time to come together to reflect on prejudices that still exist across the region and the whole wide world. For more details, as well as other events happening around the Q.C. in relation to Pride, visit www.pridecharlotte.org. Free. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Gateway Village, 800 W. Trade St.
