CHARLOTTE, NC, July 18 – Today, INLIVIAN announces the start of site preparation for the construction of a residential community that will reimagine urban living in Uptown Charlotte. A first of its kind in the state of North Carolina, the new development will deliver luxury residential apartments for working professionals. Just steps away from the best amenities in the city’s center, the development is designed to welcome and connect diverse professionals across the income spectrum.

INLIVIAN has partnered with Urban Atlantic, a national mixed-use housing developer, to introduce this bold, socially inclusive apartment community. The development will offer 353 luxury residential apartments seamlessly integrated across multiple price points.

“INLIVIAN has a commitment to creating leading-edge approaches to housing solutions for residents across a range of incomes in Mecklenburg County,” said Fulton Meachem, INLIVIAN President and Chief Executive Officer. “The housing market is seeing a rise in the demand for living in an urban center due to its many advantages, and we could not be more pleased to be producing hundreds of homes in one of the most desirable parts of Charlotte. We anticipate that single professionals, parents and children will flourish in our new apartment homes.”

The future residential community, located at 8th and North Tryon Street, is being developed on the site of the vacant Hall House, formerly Barringer Hotel. The development's exterior will honor the site's legacy by reflecting 1940 art deco architecture with modern design, eclectic art, and high-end finishes. With a focus on wellness and community, residents will have access to a spa pool, co-working cafe, rooftop terrace, dog park, and sports courts.

"Every Charlotte resident deserves a place to call home that brings them pride and sets them up for success,” says Mecklenburg County Commissioner Mark Jerrell. “INLIVIAN is opening doors that will provide more access to many of the city’s best amenities, which for too long have been available to high-income individuals only. I am proud of Mecklenburg County's commitment to support opportunities that create more equitable access to key resources for a high-quality life.”

All residents of the new apartment homes will have immediate access to career and cultural experiences, educational opportunities, public transportation, and an equally exceptionally built place to live. The residential development expects to welcome residents to thrive where they live, work, play and worship beginning in 2024.

Through the summer, abatement activity will be visible with construction beginning in the early fall.
