MUSIC: Off the Record w/ Harvard and Electric Coma

Wednesday, April 20

In case you haven't heard about CL music editor Jeff Hahne's new music series "Off the Record," here's another reminder. Happening monthly at The Evening Muse, it goes beyond just music. Between songs Hahne asks questions to performing musicians, giving the audience a better insight into the bands songs and artistic process. This week, the series will feature Harvard (pictured) and Electric Coma. $7. 8 p.m. The Evening Muse, 3227 N. Davidson St. 704-376-3737. www.theeveningmuse.com.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
