Karen Garcia and Jose Avelar are from Mexico and now live in Charlotte. “I came here tonight to support people that need papers,” Garcia said. “It makes me sad to see kids left alone because their parents are getting deported. Before I got my papers, I used to be scared to drive to school because I knew if I got pulled over I would have to go back to my country.”
Jose Reyes, left, is from Mexico and is seen here with his family. “I am here to support and to help keep families together,” he said. “We want to be able to have drivers licenses and papers too.”
Enrique Massar is from Honduras. “This nation was made for immigrants,” he said. “The government is wasting a lot of money but they’re not helping the people.”
