Immigrants and advocates gather in Charlotte, asking for immigration reform

Posted By on Mon, Oct 7, 2013 at 11:12 AM

Hundreds gathered at Marshall Park on Saturday evening as part of a vigil hosted by the Latin American Coalition. Advocates and immigrants - both documented and undocumented - came together to ask Congress to pass newly introduced immigration reform, which includes a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented people in the U.S., and to ask the federal government to stop separating families by deporting individual members. The vigil was held in conjunction with hundreds planned across the U.S. for the national Day of Dignity and Respect for Immigration Reform.
