Patois Counselors Wednesday Residency CL Recommends

When: Wed., June 14, 10 p.m. 2017
Price: $2
Here’s the residency we’ve been waiting for: The dizzyingly amazing Charlotte band Patois Counselors, featuring Bo White, he of Calabi Yau, Yardwork, Don Telling's Island Mysteries, and all kinds of other wildly experimental musical explosions, will be peforming at Snug every Wednesday in June. White's fellow Counselors are include some pretty illustrious Charlotte musicians in their own right: drummer Zach Reader (Blossoms); bassist Lee Herrera (HRVRD), guitarist Nick Goode (Brain F≠ and more) synth player Robin Doermann (from Moenda, and White on vocals. The band's 4-song 7-inch on Bandcamp is pretty sweet, and every time this writer gets the notion to complain about the lack of “real jazz” in Charlotte, he’s gonna blast the noisy “Free Jazz Complaint" as loud as possible. Check it out.
