Wallowing in the mud is for pigs, right? Wrong. It's also for teams (of people) during the 4th Annual Murphy's Dirty 30 Mud Volleyball Tournament -- first conceptualized as a birthday party for Habitat For Humanity Charlotte ReStore manager Tim Murphy ... hence, the event name. To win matches, participants must get down and dirty, as multiple tournies take place in large mud pits. Yuck! Sounds like a mess to me, but it does have a purpose (other than sending folks home to scrub-a-dub dub) of raising funds for Habitat for Humanity, an organization that services the community by building affordable homes for those in need. 1 p.m. Metrolina Tradeshow Expo, 7100 Statesville Road. www.habitatmudvolleyball.org.
