Tech of the Year

Our first Theaterperson of the Year back in 1987, Bob Croghan hasn't returned to acting more than a couple of times in the decades since. But he has certainly solidified his position as Charlotte's king of costumes with stunning, incomparably prolific work year after year, winning our Best Costume Designer award four times – with designs for three different companies. In 2010, he contended strongly for that honor once again with a fabulous array of creations for CPCC Summer Theatre in The Drowsy Chaperone and more profusions of splendor for Children's Theatre in Treasure Island and Scrooge! Croghan also designed the sets for those acclaimed shows, winning our Best Set Designer laurel for the first time with his work on Treasure Island. When you're that busy and that good, accolades will find you.
