As musical and cultural boundaries bend and blend, there was bound to be a Hasidic Jew singing rasta music. Matisyahu (born Matthew Miller) weaves traditional Jewish spirituality with mighty, uplifting reggae grooves. He is touring for his third album simply called Light, where conscious lyrics, funky riddims, ragamuffin, dancehall, roots reggae and soaring rock riffs collide in this, well, a cross-cultural blend. Swine flu attempted to infect our offices recently. Intern Nicole came down with a case of the H1N1, and we made her stay home until she was all better. Since today's her first day back, she shares with us (and you, dear readers) her tale of what it was like to have the dreaded swine flu.

CL-TV Originals Meet DJ Hero NASCAR Driver Martin Truex Jr.

CL music contributor Mike McCray sat down with NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr. before he jumped in the DJ Hero Chevy for the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday. There was a free demo of the game, which drops Oct. 27, for fans as well as a DJ Hero showdown between Martin + Mike after their interview (Video tomorrow).

Despite the title, you won't find any Devo on Whip It's soundtrack, but the Ramones and .38 Special both make vocal appearances in this film that marks the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore. If these bands made the journey from Drew's iPod to the big screen, more power to them, as they're certainly in tune with the rock & roll aesthetic on display throughout this rowdy, rebellious film.
