Uptown Charlotte just got a little warmer with the opening of The Kings Kitchen, a not-for-profit public restaurant that supports and promotes community development by creating jobs for those in need of employment. The restaurant works with other businesses and non-profits to train and employ job-seeking individuals, such as troubled youth and rehab graduates, in the restaurant industry. The Kings Kitchen offers a wide array of Southern-style food with a daily selection of six to eight meats and 10 to 15 local vegetables. Starting today, The Kings Kitchen will be open for both lunch and dinner. Check out The Kings Kitchen Fundraiser on June 10 at 5:30 p.m. which will include a silent auction, cocktail reception, and a live auction at 7 p.m. Tickets are $250 per person or $2,000 per table.
