NY Fashion Week is in full swing, but it's kind of hard for us to keep up with all that fashion excitement knowing that IKEA is opening up tomorrow. Nonetheless, a job must be done.

Saturday, Mattel invited more than 1,000 guests to view a fashion show featuring 50 designer looks inspired by Barbie. Yes, it's the Barbie Runway Show. From WSJ.com:

The show was a celebration of “all things girl,” said Richard Dickson, general manager and senior vice president worldwide for Mattel, noting that it was part of an ongoing marketing campaign to strengthen Barbie’s relevance, especially against new dolls like the Bratz.
