J.T. Posh, consignment boutique

J.T. Posh isn't your average consignment store. More like a consignment boutique. "We didn't want to open a typical consignment shop. We wanted a boutique feel," said co-owners, and sisters, Jen and Tracy.

The duo left their jobs as a teacher and department store buyer to open J.T. Posh only two years ago, and must be doing something right as they have won numerous awards since. (In case you are wondering, "J" stands for Jen and "T" is for Tracy.)

The "boutique feel" for J.T. Posh means brightly colored walls, chandeliers, wooden hangers, and an entire room of ... shoes.

But the best part is the absence of boutique prices. J.T. Posh's prices are normally 45 percent of the retail price, and they have items ranging from $10 to $500. Not all of their clothes and accessories are gently used, either. Some are brand-new, brought in from boutiques that are closing or trying to get rid of excess merchandise.

J.T. Posh is an extremely popular store, and consignment seems to be the new popular way to shop. If you are interested in trying to sell your designer clothes at J.T. Posh, they take appointments Tuesday - Friday.
