Hot Spots Nothing like a good Mud Pie

On one of my weekly "shopping trips," I came across this cute little store in the Blakeney shopping center, Mud Pie Monograms and Gifts. When I walked in, three cheerful older women were moving around some displays.
One of the owners, Jeannine Williams, was kind enough to show me some of their popular selling items, such as these Reisenthel carry bags. ($51.99 including monograms)

Women from all over the Charlotte area got together late Friday afternoon on Feb. 6 to participate in Diva Couture, an event hosted by JnR Wholesale Apparel whose main focus is primarily on women.
Described as a “Ladies Night Out Experience/Pre-Valentine’s Day Happy Hour” with complimentary dessert, drinks and hors d’oeuvres, it was hard to turn down. If you missed out, luckily for you there will be a Diva Couture event before Easter and another before Mother’s Day.

The new comedy Confessions of a Shopaholic opens today. Jeez, I can relate to mounds of credit card debt due to a shopping addiction, so I'll be watching the movie soon. Maybe Rebecca Bloomwood (played by Isla Fisher) can give me some answers on how to get control of my addiction. Here's the trailer.

Events Cigar tastings this weekend

Tomorrow, Feb. 13, Outland Gift and Cigar will be holding a King Havano Cigar Event at the SouthPark location. Noon to 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be a port and cigar tasting. The members only reception will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
