Hot Spots Century Vintage: Where cool stuff goes to be adopted

This week's feature on consignment stores around Charlotte is on Century Vintage.
Plaza Midwood is home to Century Vintage, which has been open for 12 years. Owner Allison has owned it for eight. She got into the business because she couldn’t stand to see things from the 1950s, '60s and '70s go to waste. “We are like an adoption agency for cool stuff,” she said.

Events Puppy love photos tomorrow (and next Saturday)

Don’t miss Valentine’s puppy love pictures Feb. 7 and 14!
The Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas will be at Canine Cafe to take pictures of your pooch with a festive Valentine’s backdrop. They’ll be here two Saturdays: tomorrow, Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 (Valentine’s Day) between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
No appointments necessary; just drop by and they will work your dog in on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cost: $10 donation for one dog; $5 for each additional dog.
All picture proceeds will benefit the Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas.
