Sidewalk sale today and tomorrow! FTW!
Happy Earth Day, folks!
I've been noticing on Facebook a lot of people talking more about their eco-cuffs. So I became a fan of GreenMarketGirl, and I have to tell you, I LOVE these wooden bracelets!
Gah, aren't they gorgeous?
Perusing her Facebook more (by the way, this is a local company!), I see this:
Our EcoCuffs and other products are created with the remnants and offcuts in our custom furniture/design company. We use only certified lumber and low- to no-VOC compounds making them environmentally friendly.
Fabulous.
To purchase directly, check out her Etsy page. So many great items up for sale, so little money in my wallet!

Gosh, have I told you folks about how bad I am about dropping my iPhone? The last one I had, I managed to crack the screen all the way down the middle. No bueno!
In honor of Earth Day, here's an iPhone (or iPod) case that you must get from Vers.
According to the site, these cases are very renewable: "For every tree we use, we replant 100 through our partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation and the US Forrestry Service to re-forrest areas damaged by fire and other natural disasters."
As far as protection goes, (which is a big deal if you paid the full price on this bad boy!) you really can't beat some hard wood. "Wood is tough stuff - its natures version of carbon fiber. Naturally rigid and impact-resistant, when reinforced with steel pins, its serious protection for your iPod/iPhone."
Want to order this snazzy, Earth-friendly product? Visit www.versaudio.com. (The closest retail spot to snag this case is in Sanford, N.C. 90-something miles away!)
Right now at Organica Deluxe, all items that includes organic cookies, wines, treats and more are 15 to 60 percent off. Happy Earth Day!
Seeing as this locally owned business, which specializes in eco-friendly merch, was featured on CNN, (see video here), I'm thinking you need to go ahead and see what's up before the rest of the nation wipes 'em clean.
But that's not all. Tomorrow from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., head over to owner Wendy James' house at 3127 Selwyn Ave. for a Sell Everything Earth Day Event." Save trees and avoid wasteful packaging for online shipments by just driving your happy behind over there and picking up your merch.

After fighting the good fight, Eastland Mall will be closing its doors in a few months. It's hard to believe this place is 35 years old, though. Going out of business sale, anyone?
The landlord at Eastland Mall has told its tenants they must vacate the shopping center by June 30.The landlord, LNR Partners Inc. of Miami, says the malls owners have been unable to find a buyer for the property, and the property is now in foreclosure, according to a letter delivered to store owners Friday.
