News Spring trend: Jeweled sandals

If you're a regular follower of Klepto, you'll probably remember me mentioning that I hate wearing shoes. Psh. If I could, I'd walk around the office all day LONG without anything barring me from feeling the cool hardwood floors against my tootsies. Alas, my boss fusses at me.
So of course the next best thing is sandals. And according to Arlene Goldstein, vice president of fashion merchandising and trending at Belk, jeweled sandals are caliente this season. I loves it! Now I can have my toes hanging out with the added bonus of having some bling adornment as well. What's even better is that I don't necessarily have to have my toes all done up just to draw some attention to my pretty peds — the jeweledness of beads and rhinestones will do that for me. For example, how about these "Daffy" sandals from Rampage? Only $49!
Events Style expert Lloyd Boston coming to Southpark

The Belk at Southpark is really reeling them in, aren't they? Isaac Mizrahi was here recently, Tim Gunn is scheduled to appear in May, and this weekend, Lloyd Boston, a regular fashion contributor to NBC's The Today Show and Jones New York's resident style expert, will be making an appearance.
According to a press release, Lloyd will be at Belk for a style presentation, offering women advice on how to dress from desk to dinner, work to weekend, and everything in between. Event includes a fashion presentation and 5-minute personal style appointments with Lloyd, in addition to the opportunity to win a head-to-toe makeover on the spot for one lucky woman.
The event happens this Saturday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Belk at Southpark, 4400 Sharon Road.

If you're a Twitter GEEK like so many of us are today, this might be a good way for you to increase your followers and get you some Twitter visibility in the real world.
Survival of the Hippest is an "entrepreneurial General Store" that offers handcrafted jewelry (silver or gold) to pimp out your Twitter name or hashtag. Silver starts at $49.95 and gold is from $89.95. Sure, it's a little expensive, but you want to add followers, don't you? With one of these, all people have to do is look at your neck to see what your Twitter handle is — beats having to follow a buttload of people in hopes that they'll follow you back!
Honestly though, I think if I had my Twitter handle put on a necklace (@qcklepto), when I went shopping, store owners might be a little nervous.

You're walking along Trade Street during your lunch hour one day, when something on the ground glistens attractively. "Probably a piece of glass reflecting the light from the sun," you think.
