Jean Paul Gaultier's fall collection not age-specific, despite gray wigs

Ah, fashion week in Paris — is there anything more fabulous? It is a week filled with fashion shows in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. On Friday, March 5, Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection hit the runway with the appeal to women of a certain age as his models were all donned in wigs (mostly gray hair).

With these printed pant and skirt suits paired with silk tops, Gaultier shows that a woman of any age can get away with these looks. I know you may be thinking that these are meant for Grams — but do not be fooled, my friends! Take what you see here and create them as your own — the runway is meant to be inspiration. Mix the classic pieces with what is current age-appropriate.

Along with the pant suits (did you notice that the spring trend of wide legs will continue into the fall?), there were plenty of lush textures. The meticulously placed leather and rich suede. How could you not love the belted burnt orange coat paired with the chocolate leather skirt … minus the pants, would you wear a skirt over free-flowing wide leg pants?
