Energizer Holdings Inc (ENR.N) said on Monday that it plans to buy S.C. Johnson & Son Inc's Edge and Skintimate brands for $275 million, adding shaving creams and gels to its Schick-Wilkinson Sword razor business.

German sportswear and equipment maker Adidas AG on Tuesday announced additional restructuring steps as first-quarter net profit plummeted 97%.In the three months ended March 31, net profit dropped to 5 million ($6.7 million) from 169 million a year earlier, as sales declined to 2.58 billion from 2.62 billion.
...One of the world's largest sportswear makers, Adidas is becoming more pessimistic as consumer spending around the globe is hit by rising unemployment and weakening sentiment.

Target has just bagged its second Designer Collaborations Series: Anna Sui. Her line will be inspired by the cast of the CW show Gossip Girls. The line will debut September 13.

Chrysler's trying to make some cheese as they work through their bankruptcy and restructuring, and they're trying to do it quick.
Their newest incentive to get folks in the door: a $4,000 rebate for 2009 model purchases. In addition, current owners of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles can get $1,000 more toward a new Chrysler vehicle.

The vacant Home Depot Design Center building in midtown Charlotte has caught the eye of some big name stores, local real estate brokers say.Whole Foods, Kohl's, Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale Club and Wal-Mart are among the names they say have checked out the location on Charlottetowne Avenue, where the Metropolitan mixed-use development has replaced Midtown Square shopping center.
Home Depot, which closed the 127,653-square-foot Design Center as part of a nationwide cutback, is selling the store, located underneath a Target in a 250,000-square-foot complex with a shared parking deck.

Premium jeans sales are down. Are you surprised?
On Tuesday, VF Corp, maker of 7 For All Mankind jeans, said that brands total business was down about 10 percent in the quarter, thanks to the weak U.S. wholesale environment.
