Love is in the air this summer with Raleigh's newest online women's boutique bevello.
Shopping online can be somewhat of a hassle at times. Will this dress look the same on me as it looks on the girl in the picture? Will it fit right? Bevello.com, which has been up and running since early April, tackles those frustrations and worries head-on.
"People want to shop online but they have a lot of doubt and intimidation and restrictions that keep them from doing so, such as will the dress fit, what will it look like, what will it feel like, is it going to be a different color when you get it," says Mary Gillogly, bevello's "behind-the-scenes girl." "So we take that frustration out and that intimidation factor out as much as possible, so that bevello can be a company that you can trust."
"At the Red House, where black people and white people buy furniture."
So, there's a furniture store in High Point with the above motto. It's called the Red House. According to an article in the Observer, the shop has garnered attention recently because of its bizarre Youtube commercial. Check it out:
"We thought the idea was hilarious to use race and racial reconciliation as a marketing angle," Neal [one of the singers] said Monday. "We also knew it would raise eyebrows and spark discussion."
The Red House has been in business for 50 years and offers new and used furniture.
I found this video on YouTube, courtesy of VisitCharlotte, all about the shopping in Charlotte. I'm disappointed that the makers opened the clip highlighting SouthPark mall, but they do mention all of the locally owned spots.
This week's video tour is of Venus Phli a boutique that showcases local and independent designers, located at 3039 South Blvd.
