Obama, Clinton face off in Md., Va., and D.C.: Voters in Maryland, Virginia and the D.C. area are turning out in high numbers today to choose their candidate in the primary elections. Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain are favored in their respective parties to take the elections.

Panthers cut Morgan, Wahle: On the first day the NFL's waiver system reopened, the Carolina Panthers cut two former Pro Bowlers, linebacker Dan Morgan and offensive guard Mike Wahle. In doing so, the Panthers save about $7 million in salary-cap space effective June 2.

Saudi Arabia bans all things red ahead of Valentine's Day: With Valentine's Day a couple of days away, Saudi Arabia has asked florists and gift shops to remove all red items until after the holiday. "As Muslims we shouldn't celebrate a non-Muslim celebration, especially this one that encourages immoral relations between unmarried men and women, " Sheikh Khaled Al-Dossari, a scholar in Islamic studies, told the Saudi Gazette, an English-language newspaper.
