The voice role of James P. Sulley Sullivan [in Monsters, Inc.] went to John Goodman ... Goodman interpreted the character to himself as the monster equivalent of a National Football League player. Hes like a seasoned lineman in the tenth year of his career, he said at the time. He is totally dedicated and a total pro. Billy Crystal, having regretted turning down the part of Buzz Lightyear [in Toy Story], accepted that of Mike Wazowski, Sulleys one-eyed best friend and scare assistant. Boo was voiced by the preschool daughter of one of the story artists.
