Aid ordered to Georgia:

President Bush has directed the U.S. military to lead a humanitarian mission to Georgia where tens of thousands have been forced out of their homes, following a Russian invasion last week described by Georgia's president as an "ethnic cleansing." Meanwhile, Bush orders Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Tbilisi to show U.S. support for the former Soviet republic. Reuters

Shots fired at Arkansas Democratic Party headquarters:

A gunman entered the Arkansas Democratic Party headquarters Wednesday and shot the party chairman, who was hospitalized in critical condition. The gunman asked to speak to party chairman, Bill Gwatney, and fired three shots. AP via Fox News

BMW recalls 200,00 vehicles:

BMW AG is recalling 200,000 vehicles over concerns that the front passenger airbag may not deploy in a crash. The German automaker says the recall includes the 2006 3 Series, 2004-2006 5 series, 2004-2006 X3 compact sports utility vehicle. CNN Money

Los Angeles stages food intervention:

The Los Angeles City Council decided to stop new fast food restaurants from opening in some of the city's poorest neighborhoods. No fast food businesses may open for a year in south Los Angeles, where obesity and a dearth of food markets are a concern. The fast food moratorium may give residents healthier options. NY Times
