Why is it that things can be fine and dandy in a relationship, yet deteriorate after marriage? No one really knows the answer to this, but we all like to give our two cents. Davidson Community Players latest production Barefoot in the Park (which kicked off on July 23) is about a newly-wed couple who moves into an apartment a breath-taking six-flight climb. Basically, what could be looked at as a healthy workout becomes a major pisser-offer. When the hubby refuses to go with his wife on a barefoot walk through the park in the snow (Can you really blame him? One word: frostbite), she tells him to get out of the house. But hes the one making the rent payments, so hell be doing the kicking out. Ahhh, the trials of love and marriage. One things for sure: You cant blame the stairs. Tickets are $20-$22. Performances are July 24-25, 8 p.m.; July 30-Aug. 1, 8 p.m.; Aug. 2, 2 p.m. at Davidson Colleges Duke Family Performance Hall, 207 Faculty Dr., Davidson. To order tickets, call 704-372-1000.
