Free health screenings, thanks to Walgreens and AARP, will be available at select locations in and around Charlotte from June 11-17.

The free screenings are available for folks 18 and older and will be conducted on the tour bus, which will be at the Taste of Charlotte from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. June 11 and 12 and from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on June 13, according to the tour's schedule. The large red and white tour bus will be difficult to miss. Screenings should take less than half an hour.

Several other Charlotte-area locations are also listed on page two of the tour's North Carolina schedule. Check it out here.

From Walgreens' website:

The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour is delivering free health screenings and health education to communities across the country with a special emphasis on diverse and underserved areas.

The nationwide tour features nine customized buses that travel 240,000 miles across 45 states, visiting more than 2,000 communities in 300 cities. One of the nine buses called the AARP/Walgreens La Gira Del Buen Vecino, which is solely dedicated to the island of Puerto Rico, will be on the road this year as well.

Last year, the Wellness Tour provided more than $1 million in screenings to over 180,000 customers. Over the next two years the Tour has a goal to deliver more than 2.5 million in FREE health screenings - a value of over $60 million.

Available screenings are worth over $140 per person*, and no appointment is necessary. Screenings include:

  • Total Cholesterol Levels
  • Blood Pressure
  • Bone Density
  • Glucose Levels
  • Waist Circumference
