Rep. Christopher Lee goes topless on Craigslist? Oh my.

Posted By on Thu, Feb 10, 2011 at 11:23 AM

Let me get this straight ... The last South Carolina governor had a mistress and singlehandedly re-branded adultery as "hiking the Appalachian Trail." The current South Carolina governor was accused of adultery, herself, before she could even be elected. North Carolina's once beloved political Ken doll had an affair with a woman — whom he knocked up — while his wife was dying of cancer. Up in New York, Elliot Spitzer's kinky side was revealed. Louisiana's Sen. David Vitter pays for sex. A former president was getting BJs in the Oval Office from an intern. But, did any of those people resign the second their trysts were unveiled? No. (Though Spitzer, now a cable news pundit, resigned two days later.)

And then, yesterday, N.Y. Congressman Christopher Lee resigned after a topless photograph — of his own chest, taken with his phone in a bathroom mirror — was disseminated to the media by the chick he was corresponding with on Craigslist, the place to go if you're a hoe looking to get some.

Really?

I mean, yes — he's married. Yes, he's got kids. Yes, he's one of those "family values" politicians. But, can't the same be said about most of the other politicians involved in sex scandals?

So, what have we proven about this guy? He lies to get free or cheap sex. Check. He's a cheater. Check. He apparently doesn't think good grammar, proper punctuation and capitalization will impress is lady friends. Check. He's probably deeply wounded his family. Check.

Yawn.

Compared to the other politicians in this category, this guy is practically a nun. The fact that he quit so quickly makes my bullshit detector blink. First of all, who's the chick involved in this situation? Second, what are we going to find out about this guy next — does he have a Craigslist harem? Maybe he's got some scandalous kink? Whatever it is, I'm betting there's much more to this story than one crappy self portrait.

Oh, wait ... here comes more Christopher Lee party boy news: Rep. Lee Was Warned Over Partying — The Daily Beast. (I told you so.)
