Just what the state's environment doesn't need — an even weaker Department of Environment and Natural Resources

Posted By on Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 9:40 AM

As if we needed any more proof that Republicans see the environment as little more than something to plunder, they're trying to yank employees from the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources — a department that's been woefully understaffed and over worked for years.

Again, this is all about big businesses raking in the dough. Damn you and your water, your lungs, your cancer. Damn health care costs stemming from a toxic environment. So long as our corporations are making money, all's well in the capital. Right?

Wrong. Dear GOP: Our health is important, you money-hungry assholes. And, since someone obviously needs to tell you: The health of your family, friends and constituents is, too. Clean air and water is critical, not only for the health of today's population but for the health of your future slave class; you know, the workers who will keep your corporations running for centuries to come.

People, we need to stand up to this bullying bullshit. Find your state representatives and their contact information here. Then call or write them and let them know what your family's health and the health of our environment — two things you cannot not untangle — mean to you.
