CL writers debate McCrory's decision to leave the 12th district, formerly represented by Mel Watt, without representation for nearly a year.

President Obama visited North Carolina yesterday; Sen. Kay Hagan didn't come with him.

A convicted killer will be put to death today using a new drug cocktail. Elisabeth A. Semel, clinic professor of law and director of the Death Penalty Clinic at U.C. Berkeley School of Law, said "no one knows exactly how [Dennis] McGuire will die, how long it will take or what he will experience in the process."

The entryway to the N.C. Music Factory is about to get more colorful, with the NCDOT's approval.

The Oscar nominations were announced this morning.
