First Drip (10/29/14): Feds sue AT&T, Jordan gets all Tweet-y, more

Giddy over the Charlotte Hornets’ grand reopening, Michael Jordan took over the team’s Twitter account Tuesday, posting selfies and shots of the seats he’ll be in for tonight’s 7 p.m. game against Milwaukee. With the Big Three of Al Jefferson, Kemba Walker and Lance Stephenson to back them, the excitement is contagious: the Hornets have nearly doubled the number of season ticket holders from 2010.

In its first lawsuit addressing so-called data-throttling, the Federal Trade Commission accused telecommunications giant AT&T of misleading smartphone customers by slowing the speed of their data usage without properly notifying them. Edith Ramirez, the agency's chairwoman, said AT&T charged mobile customers "for so-called unlimited data plans that were, in reality, not unlimited at all."

A unmanned rocket carrying 5,000 pounds of supplies and experiments to the International Space Station exploded shortly after blastoff on Tuesday at NASA's facility on Wallops Island, Va. NASA says that the Space Station has plenty of spare food and water, so this won't impact operations.

According to SeekingArrangement.com, a popular website that pairs older men with young women for “mutually beneficial” relationships, Charlotte's population of sugar daddies is on the rise. But the average Queen City daddy still makes less and spends less annually on his sweet tooth than the national average. Charlotte ranked 18th, up one spot from last year but trailing Atlanta, which came in at #1.
