Cheap list: All Arts Market, Chocolate Buffet, NoDa Krampus Krawl, more

Going out in Charlotte doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, to prove that statement, we've compiled a list of cheap - $10 or less - things to do in the Q.C. this weekend. These events may vary, but they're all entertaining and they won't break your bank (piggy banks excluded).

All Arts Market at Neighborhood Theatre More than 60 locals join together to showcase and sell their creative goods. This includes everything from paintings and jewelry to clothing, hand bags and other cool stuff. Those who need to do some shopping for unique gifts will want to stop in here. Free admission. Dec. 12, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Neighborhood Theatre, 511 E. 36th St.

Chocolate Buffet & Martini's Semi Swanky Social Mixer at Bubble Awesome Random Adventures, a 20s and 30s social club on meet, hosts this event that's all about "speed-friending" (similar to speed-dating). Throw appetizers, chocolate treats and martinis in and you've got a pretty swell networking atmosphere. $10. Dec. 12, 7 p.m. Bubble, 210 E. Trade St. 704-733-9427.

Meet the Authors of 27 Views of Charlotte at Charlotte Museum of History Folks who have missed other opportunities around town to hear authors read from this Charlotte-focused book, should be sure not to miss this one. Authors Fannie Flono, Dannye Romine Powell and Ann Wicker will read selections from their contributions to the anthology of essays, short stories and poems about the Q.C. Free. Dec. 13, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive. 704-568-1774.

NoDa Krampus Krawl Most of us don’t associate a horned monster with sharp fangs with Christmas. But in European folklore, Krampus fits this description. He works for Saint Nick and keeps tabs on children — naughty or nice. Folks are encouraged to dress as the fiendish helper at this crawl where they’ll enjoy a mix of events at NoDa venues, including a concert of holiday covers by Evergone and the Broken Napoleons at Jack Beagles. Free admission. Dec. 13, 5:30 p.m. Held in NoDa Arts District, North Davidson and East 36th streets.

Charlotte Comicon Winter Show at Crowne Plaza Charlotte Executive Park Sure, it’s a must for comic book enthusiasts, but it also may have some appeal to folks looking for an alternative to all the holiday fare going down at the moment. The guest list is filled with artists and numerous vendors selling new and vintage comic books. We’re particularly jazzed about the costume contest. You’ll find all sorts of creative attire, as those participating compete for $220 in “con” cash and prizes. $5. Dec. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crowne Plaza Charlotte Executive Park, 5700 Westpark Drive.
