Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a Yemen-based organization, claimed responsibility for last week's deadly attack on Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical newspaper in Paris.

Problems with a modular fireplace probably contributed to Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera’s recent home fire. The blaze caused $500,000 in damages to the house.

The House will vote on the Department of Homeland Security funding bill today. One of its amendments would nullify President Obama’s executive actions on immigration; a move Democrats and Republicans warn risks vital security funding at a time of increased terror attacks.

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch said he believes his ex-girlfriend is a trained assassin who took down government regimes around the world. Patricia Driscoll has requested a no-contact order. Busch testified in court Monday that he had decided to end their relationship last fall because she was monopolizing his schedule. Driscoll said Busch assaulted her at Dover International Speedway a week later, grabbing her by the neck and slamming her head into a wall three times.
